Anthony Byrne MP, Federal Member for Holt, recently visited the Casey Regional Veterans Welfare Centre in Cranbourne to see their new computer and communication equipment.
The new equipment was funded through the Australian Government’s Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Grants.
“The volunteers at the Casey Regional Veterans Welfare Centre provide vital services to local veterans and their families. This includes assistance with claims for pensions and other welfare support, research on family member’s military service and arranging funeral rites for ex-service personnel,” said Anthony Byrne.
“They also make presentations to local schools about conflicts where Australians have served to educate students on the sacrifice and conviction of our servicemen and women,” said Anthony Byrne.

“This $7,072 grant from the Rudd Government supports the Casey Regional Veterans Welfare Centre with its high quality advice, guidance and service to local veterans and our community,” said Anthony Byrne.
Anthony Byrne said the funding of BEST grants delivers on a Rudd Government election commitment to provide an additional $5 million across Australia to support the work of ex-service organisation’ (ESO) pensions and welfare practitioners and advocates.
In this round of BEST Grants the Casey Regional Veterans Welfare Centre received:
