Anthony has been Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister since November 2007 and Parliamentary Secretary for Trade since February 2009.
In his role as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister Anthony supports Prime Minister Julia Gillard through a range of government operations, particularly by overseeing government legislation on the Prime Minister’s behalf and interacting with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) to manage the Government’s agenda. Through this role Anthony has specific responsibility for the Australian Institute of Family Studies, an independent government agency, and the National Security Science and Technology Unit, a branch within PM&C.
As Parliamentary Secretary for Trade Anthony works with the Minister for Trade to grow Australia’s economy and build a more prosperous Australia, creating more opportunities for all Australians.
